Setting Up Your WebTV
Connection
Although
the WebTV system does support a 'typical' ISP connection
through a program called "OpenISP", it also
has some significant differences from standard computers.
Due to the WebTV console's design and operation Niagara Internet cannot offer any hardware technical support
beyond this document.
Technically
speaking your WebTV system would be one of two models:
- WebTV
(Classic)
- The
first year version
- 33,600
(33.6kbps) modems
- No External
Ports
- No 'upgrades'
available for it's internal system
- WebTV
Plus
- Newer
/ Current Version
- 56,000
(56kbps) Kflex modem
- Several
external ports including Printer Port
- Uses
an internal hard drive to allow for system updates
Either
system will be able to work with Niagara Internet's
systems through the OpenISP plan.
